Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my website!
I've said a fair amount of who I am and what I do in my biography but I'd like to use this opportunity to tell you a little bit more about myself from a more personal perspective.
So, yup I'm a musician who has finally achieved the long standing goal of working on an album from start to finish doing it myself, the production, songwriting, instrument playing/singing (except the trumpet and female vocals!) engineering and mixing *phew*. I am super proud to have reached the summit of my mountain. It wasn't always pretty or easy but I've learnt so much about music and myself along the way. I enjoy passing on what I've learnt to others, hoping my experience can help fill in the grey areas for other artists and musicians I cross paths with.
When I was a tiny Seb Stone I remember going to recording sessions and gigs with my Mum, Katie Kissoon, who is a fantastic vocalist with number 1 singles to her name and a career CV that includes some of the biggest legends of the music industry. I was super lucky to have been exposed to such a high level of talent and professionalism that I've always aspired to reach that level myself. It's funny though, with all those experiences it was a computer game that unlocked my passion to make music of my own! I can't remember the name of the game but it was one where you played with audio loops and created your own arrangements. I also remember walking around school beat boxing and humming bass lines not knowing at the time that I could turn those ideas into solid music.
So since then, after I left school I went on to teach myself how to play Bass guitar first, then Drums (while writing lyrics and singing along the way), then Guitar, Audio Production, Engineering/Mixing and most recently the Piano. I've drawn upon all of those early experiences with Katie for inspiration and that passion for music sustains me through all the ups and downs of life.
Spending the time working on all of those musical aspects meant a long time practising on my own and investing heavily over the years for the equipment necessary to accomplish my goal. The one thing I'd tell anyone who is working by themselves, make sure you get out as often as you can! Being so focused means you can achieve great things but sometimes neglect others. But it's all good! I Wouldn't change a thing :) 'Alchemy' is the product of all that focus and love and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
